Doug,
I have the R-51 and there are a few things that you need to do and
a few things to watch for.
First, obtain a small needle oiler. I found my clock motor was not running
properly. It would jam after a minute of running. Upon disassembling the
clock and motor, I removed the motor and placed a few drops of oil from the
oiler on the front and rear bearings. This cleared up the jamming problem.
Onto the plastic numbers. Be very careful when cleaning them as the black
lettering will come off if rubbed too hard. Replacing the numbers would be
difficult. The second's wheel has a paper scale on it and this needs to be
carefully cleaned.
Tymeter is the manufacturer of the motor and digital number system. I have
attached the web address of a place that sells replacement seconds scales
only. They do not seem to be selling any other components for the clock.

The front plastic window was yellowed and I replaced that with a simple
piece of plastic from an old piece of plastic wrapping from a Sears tool
display item.
The metal cabinet was bead blasted to bare metal, primed and painted with a
gray color close to original and then baked with halogen lights. The front
grill was carefully cleaned with a good cleaner such as Windex or fantastic.
I replaced the rubber feet also with some I had on hand.
That's it, and I am sending you high quality images of the motor and clock
assembly.
