Hi, I am restoring a S-38 Radio, the audio output transformer seems to have
given up the ghost

Antique Electronics has a PT-983; 2.5 K primary and 8 ohm sec at 3 watts.
Works with the following tubes: 35C3, 25C5, 25L6, 25EH5, 35EH5, 6CU5, 50A5,
25A5, 12, 25 and 43.

However, I'm not really sure what tube the S-38 uses. If it's a 35L6(35C5),
it isn't listed. The tube manual shows the load resistance for a 35L6(35C5)
is 2.5 K fixed bias, but 5 K cathode bias.

Someone with more experience may be able to tell you if this transformer
will work in the S-38.

Joe
