Regarding his detailed and interesting answer to my facetious question, 
"what's a dipole?", I must explain that my friend Roy Morgan works for 
the National Institute of Standards and Technology up the road from me 
in Gaithersburg, Maryland. These guys actually talk that way!

NIST is worth visiting if you're in our area. It houses a museum 
exhibiting items as diverse as a standard foot (a hunk of exotic metal 
allegedly immune to normal expansion and contraction) to a derailed 
Lionel toy train.
