Or, come to think of it, Skips's resistor's fifth color band could be 
the ever more seldom seen, "Flammability Factor Rating" or "FFR".  In 
his case, yellow means "Caution, this thing might burst into flames 
someday". Green means: "Safe. This resistor won't burst into flames but 
will smoke a lot", and red means: "Danger! this resistor's gonna blow up 
real good just after you've installed it in the least accessible corner 
of your boatanchor."

Of course, I could be wrong.
