I doubt that any of us have avoided the odd bonehead action.  In my case 
I found a shock mount rack for four ARC receivers (BC-453 style) when I 
was cleaning out my father's garage.  I had seen plenty of three-wide 
racks over the years and didn't think too much about it; I wound up 
tossing it.  Years later I learned that the four-wide rack is made of 
solid unobtanium and only a few are known to survive.

Oh, well!  Live, learn, and don't let the odd blunder make you switch to 
butterfly collecting.
