Fine job, Rich. Here are photos of my (in-process) SX-42 efforts:

Like you, I polish with Simple Green and sometimes 50/50 409/ammonia 
mixture followed by a (light) pressure wash with LOTS of water. I polish 
with Wenol (great stuff!) and "NevrDull." A Dremel with the nylon brushes 
help in tight areas. After polishing, I wash again. Never use steel wool 
and remove everything possible before the process.
