Greetings All,

Happy Holidays from HCI to all the list subscribers, no matter what, if any,
holiday you personally celebrate in December. Adding some mischievous merriment
to the season, Frogzilla managed to tear himself away from the Caribbean beaches
and hop a jet to be home for the holidays at the pond he helped to make famous.
So head for the HCI web site at:

http://www.w9wze.org

Find the Frogzilla Files area and see what this amphibious prankster is up to
now!

Some of you asked me to re-run the various stories and poems I have written
over the years that were Christmas oriented, as opposed to writing a fresh tale
and running it for several weeks. I agreed. Today I discovered just how many
that involves! Great gallivanting Geranium diodes, or is it Germanium diodes?, I
should have counted before I committed! No matter, I have a solution. I will
utilize both of the QTH's for things amphibian and post two items at a time.
Hence, over the next fifteen days, you will have the opportunity to peruse the
prose and poetry from the holidays past and perhaps recapture the magic of a
special moment
that touched your heart on your journey through this life, thus allowing you to
be reminded and share it again. This historic glow must forever continue, be
somehow vacuum packed, hermatically sealed and placed upon a shelf in the HCI
gallery memory vault where the glow shall shine forever. For this window into
the very soul of Amateur Radio denotes the fast fading path that we must teach
those who are the future of Ham Radio to perceive, follow, preserve and
maintain. If not in a real sense that is physically applicable, then in a
historical perspective that assures the preservation of both the original
principals of the hobby, not the pseudo-precepts whose roots are financially
nurished at the expense of the life giving branches, and the purity of the hobby
being maintained because it 'IS' a hobby for the purposes of enjoyment, learning
new skills, providing emergency aid and assistance when and where needed and
educating society as to its intrinsic importance as a lifeboat in this
potentially deadly satellite based and almost totally computer chip dependent
run world we exist in.

So enjoy the brief, hopefully amusing as well as heartwarming, excursions into
the recent past as we all remember that unforgettable image of the dog, with a
look of total absorbtion on its face, an ear cocked to capture the sounds coming
from the Victrola as it listened to "It's Masters Voice". Pity it was not a
Hallicrafters! Do you remember what it was? The year? The breed of dog? If you
were in diapers, out of diapers or still a checkmark on your parents 'to do'
list!
