Let me relate a sad tale about trying to de-nicotine an HX50 front panel. 
The damned stuff would not come off unless I used water and a mild cleaning 
solution.  It took several applications to begin seeing some sign that the 
stain was being removed.  Then on one application a small fleck of paint 
came off.  Water got in under the paint and you know the rest of the story. 
I theorize that the nicotine reacted with the paint, cause it to slightly 
crack and admit a bit of water the hydraulic action of which messed up my 
panel.

I had to refinish the complete panel and apply a full-panel decal, which has 
not been done to my satisfaction yet.

So, beware the radio coming from a heavy smoker!
