[Hallicrafters] Removing Oxidation

I have started my refurbishing (not sure I should call it a restoration) of
an sx-42, purchased from Al, W8UT.  I have been cleaning cleaning cleaning.
The deck is covered with small spots of oxidation all over.  I can clean
these off with scotch-brite but many areas are  not accessible without
removing many components.  Short of removing all the tube sockets, variable
inductors etc, is there a way to clean the deck?  Perhaps a dremel
attachment?
