[Hallicrafters] Polishing Metal & Plastics

Novus # 2 is not available in our area so I had to come up with an alternative. After receiving a couple of sets of headphones in the mail, I decided to try "Mothers aluminum & Mag polish, and it worked great. It not only shined up the metal on the earpieces, but the "plastic" as well. They now look like new. Any suggestions for cleaning scale & dirt from metal Chassis?
