[Hallicrafters] [Fwd: SX-42 AVC attack time]

Hello all,

I'm about to embark on two more rebuilds -- an R-388 and an SP-600. But, 
before I do, I have one last electrical task I'd like to perform on my 
"keeper" SX-42.  All the problems are solved (I think), but I find the 
AVC attack time exceedingly long (about a second or more on strong 
signals). Has anyone else noticed this?  Since the somewhat unorthodox 
AVC circuit in this radio eludes my full comprehension, what do you 
think could be done to "tighten up" the response?
