[Hallicrafters] Why I'm a Hallicrafters Guy

Hey Harry,

Quoting you: "As to the "not the best engineered", neither are Fords ..."

All things considered, there are still one heck of a lot of 1928-1931 model A
Fords on the road, being driven with historic or antique plates, at yard classic
car shows and everywhere. Pretty good since they have not been built in 74
years! You do not see that many of "any" other manufacturer out there!

Before anyone corrects me on how long the model A Ford was manufactured; the
model B was produced from 1932-1933 and the model C in 1934. The model T was
dropped in 1927 at the end of the model year, although a few were produced in
1928 as the model A was being introduced. I have seen some first 1928 production
model A Fords that had some model T parts still on them!

I am a Chevy guy, but when it comes to the overall best car ever built the model
A is among, if not the, best ever!

Because when I was little, my dad used to let me stay up on Saturday
night and listen to "Judy Canova" on his S-40A.

I never wanted anything else, though I bought a Ranger when I wasn't
finding the Hallicrafters I wanted.

As to the "not the best engineered", neither are Fords, but even though
I haven't had a Ford since about '67, I'll always be a Ford guy in my
heart. That's the way I was raised.

That said, affordability may have something to do with the fact that I
don't have any Collins or a Johnson 500.
