I've closed a deal with a listmember on a very nice HT-44/SX-117/PS-150 setup and so in a couple of weeks I'll be on the air (or troubleshooting) a genuine Hallicrafters station :->

I'd like to publicly thank all the folks who kindly replied to my requests for opinions, information, offered advice, and replied to my WTB's. I was totally unprepared for all the positive comments about the SX-117 performance, what a great receiver it is, low noise floor, and good sensitivity.

There were also good comments about the HT-44. Most folks mentioned the balanced modulator problem as a heads up to me, but the rest of the comments were favorable. A few of you guys have been running your stations since they were new. Here I'm getting all excited about discovering this great station, and you guys have known it for 40 years :->

So I'm very excited to join the Hallicrafters ranks with this setup. I'm putting it in one of my main operating positions for use as a daily driver. I just love using 100% American made classic tube equipment, and when in QSO I enjoy telling the other op about my station. The other op is usually very interested and wants to hear more, so the conversation gets to avoid the brief "qth/name/rst/rig/wx/73/VA/dit dit" QSO.

I have a question. I seem to recall receiving a QSL card as a Novice back in 1968 that was a Hallicrafters card. I might be confusing it with the Illinois Sesquicentennial QSL, but for some reason I can almost see that card in my mind. Did Hallicrafters ever come out with a Hallicrafters QSL card or am I confused?

Thanks again. 73, Scott WA9WFA
