It is Sunday April 24th and time for the HCI 20 meter Net. Outside it is snowing
and blowing like Santa was getting ready to make a toy run and had bribed Jack
Frost with a plateful of Mrs. Claus homemade chocolate chip wreath cookies to
unleash a full blown blizzard on Michigan and surrounding states so he could
test the new GPS guidance system! If Rudolph gets his paw in the picture, you
can bet your woven wool mittens that the GPS will 'Get Pretty Screwy' and old
Santa will find himself staring into Moon craters instead of chimneys! If the
Hustler 4BTV can get its head above the snowdrifts, and I can get this blasted
amplifier to light a fire in the wire, we will melt our way out of this Winter
Wonderland and into your vintage hearts!

The pre-Net will commence at 12:45 PM EDT, (1645 UTC). Your NCS will be trying
to kick some lazy electrons with a fat mass up the feedline about 12:20 PM EDT,
(1620 UTC), so slide on by, drift into the QSO and help me tune this amplifier!

The Net proper will begin at 1:15 PM EDT, (1715 UTC). Hopefully! Provided these
northerly winds gusting 40+ mph do not frost freeze one of the utility companies
main breakers and leave us powerless. If that happens, and it is a real
possibility, I will try to get a back up generator going to keep me from
becoming a blind plopsicle, starving to death with no microwave miracles to eat
and no power to make those things that still go glow in the dark, glow! If that
happens, I 'HOPE' that several of you will assume the NCS position and carry on.
Let K0EJF, Jerry in Colorado, be your NCS if he is available, able and willing.
KG4KZG, Dale in Florida can back Jerry up. K7JX, Casey in Washington can help
with relay or however he is needed. Maybe several of you can get your bodies
over here with some hot soup, a snow blower on steroids and dig me out of this
snow cave!

The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the
ear splitting sound of my twelve gauge sawed off shotgun blasting rock salt into
snowdrifts big enough to hide a bloated Elephant who ate too many chili dogs
under! Just do not be down wind of him if he backfires out his tailpipe! If so,
you will learn firsthand what the NASA term "on orbit" means!

If you have a working SX-117 and HT-44 that you will sell, I have a cash in hand
buyer! If you have a working base power supply for the SR-500 I have a buyer! If
you have a working base power supply for the HT-44, I have a buyer! It you have
an Icom SM-8 desk mike in working condition, I have another buyer! I have a
buyer for a clean, original and working HA-5 VFO Too! If you have something to
sell or swap, bring it and bring yourself too, if the price is reasonable, it
will be gone quicker than you can say your own call sign backwards! If you want
$500 for just the SX-117, expect to own it for a while longer! They can buy mine
for $350 loaded with extra crystals and an original manual. Reasonable works -

Hear you guys later today, I am off to get the White Cane, CO2 powered boat air
horn, non-stick Teflon coated toilet paper and make a snow trail to the little
brown shack out back, the out house. If that sewer snake dude had shown up and
gotten my neighbor's Sassafras bush roots out of my plumbing I would not be
going on this middle of the night adventure that midnight piece of triple
pepperoni pizza inspired me to take!
