[Hallicrafters] Inrush current limiters in vacuum tube equipment.

Hi,
    I ran across an ad that claimed by installing an inrush current 
limiter in series with one or both leads of the a-c line input that, 
the current will ramp up slowly (milliseconds) and help protect 
transformers, tubes, capacitors, etc.  Mouser sells inrush current 
limiters (page 389) with a max. rating of 12 amps.
    Any opinions on their use on older Hallicrafters equipment?
