Another Option

Hello all..........
I guess I had another "senior moment" when I posted the info regarding replacing the HT-32A, HT-32B and HT-37 power transformers with a new unit to be built by Heyboer Transformers.
The info I posted was indeed correct but missing one very important option in lieu of replacement. Gary Brown, WZ1M (gkbrown at gwi.net) has for years done transformer "rewinding" of these units. The quality of his work is excellent and he uses only high quality parts for the rewind. Ask around, you'll find he has never had a complaint about his work.
The "iron" on my HT-32A power transformer is in very bad condition and would require extensive metal "treatment" to restore it to its original beauty. This is the ONLY reason I decided to purchase a new unit instead of rewinding the old one.
My point here is that I feel it was in poor taste to omit "rewinding" as an affordable option in my original posting to this list.
There.... now you have at least two options of equal value and quality when it comes to Hallicrafters transmitter power transformers that have gone bad.
