Glen,

What is the stuff that is sold by antique Electronic Supply that comes in a
spray can and claims to be a spray on wrinkle, or is it crinkle, finish? I know
it comes in several colors, gray and black among them.

I have used this paint previously and have had mixed
results with it. Sometimes it works fine, other times
it doesn't. For example, I paint the doors that I
make for the DX-35 / DX-40 crystal compartments 9 at a
time. Often 2 or 3 will turn out fine and the rest
will have varying amounts of wrinkle. These are
painted sitting next to each other in a 3X3 placement
with less than 1/2 inch between the doors. As such,
they get identical amount of paint and the paint is
applied within milliseconds of each other.

The result is that I don't use this paint anymore.

However, you may have various degrees of success.

Those looking for black wrinkle finish black paint
will find it at CarQuest auto stores. It is
Plasti-Kote stock number PLA-217. I paid $6.59 per
can for it.
