[Hallicrafters] Old equipment is fun/accurate.

Hi,
A few days ago I mentioned buying a WW II Signal Corps BC-221-AK
(a.k.a. SCR-221-AK) Frequency Meter. I cleaned it up some (tube pins,
contacts, case) and have been "evaluating" it. When I set it to 2.500
MHz it zero-beats exactly with WWV. When I couple it to my HP 606A
signal generator and zero-beat it on "operate" (for checking
transmitters) it reads 2.50001 MHz on my HP 5328A Universal Counter.
I'd say the BC-221 is as accurate as a lot of the modern equipment
especially considering it's birth date (located inside case) is April
20, 1944. It's fun.
