[Hallicrafters] SX-100 illumination of S-meter

I recently acquired another SX-100 in mint condition both electrically and
cosmetically (original tubes, excellent calibration, no hum, etc.) including
being very stable on SSB after about 5 minutes of warm-up.

When I saw my first 100 back in the early 1960s in Jamestown, North Dakota,
the owner had replaced the S-meter scale with one that permitted back
illumination as I remember. I saw another similar unit in Fargo, ND in the
early 1970s.

Has anyone ever seen these replacement scales? Or have one for green?

Has anyone ever seen any illuminated S-meters on SX-100s, SX-99s or SX-96s?
If so, how without defacing the radio?

It just seems that in the tradition of "keepin' 'em glowing", using the
receiver in the darkened shack it would be nice to have the meter
illuminated. Any ideas?
