Mindy,

At any given moment, there are usually several of the German "Peoples
Radios" on eBay, selling for about $300.00. There are also the Luftwaffe
Troop entertainment Radios, and several other Army troop entertainment
radios. Pictures of these on my web site article on German radios.

For the US side of the house, there were many radios made by
Hallicrafters that were for broadcast use. See the Hallicrafters web
site.

Actually a radio designed for the Propaganda Ministry of either side
would be a powerful Transmitter which could be received by anyone with a
radio set. There was an interesting article on "Ivan the Terrible" a
Russian station that butted in on German programs and mocked the German
propaganda effort.

I do not think that the Japanese had very much of a radio propaganda
program unless you consider the broadcasts to the Japanese people in
which case it would be picked up on any simple commercial radio set. I
would suggest you contact Taka Doi who owns the Yokohama Radio Museum
and he may know more about Japanese propaganda broadcasts.
