[Hallicrafters] Indentifing capacitors (?)

I use "orange drop' caps. Not sure of the manufacturer. These are
usually
beefy (large) caps unlike the thin disk caps. I like using them in tube
radio restoration since there is a lot of room in these rigs to place
them.

As to the values, most of the caps in these radios are used for
bypassing purposes and 30 volts and .0003 uf isn't going to make any
real difference.

If the caps are used in tuned RF circuits and are used to establish
certain frequencies, then the exact value might be appropriate.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] Indentifing capacitors (?)

Hi All!

I'm restoring a SX-24 and having some trouble finding some of the caps
with
the exact values.
Some are close, but I'm not sure if they would be close enough.
Example:
Will a .022 mfd 630 vdc work in place of a .02 mfd 600vdc ?
and
Will a .0047 mfd 600 vdc work in place of a .005 mfd 600vdc ?

Question for all you expert rebuilders out there-
What is the type and/or manufacture of choice when recapping your rigs?

Any and all advise is appreciated!
