[Hallicrafters] TR-9 Transceiver

Hi to the group,
 
I just picked up a Hallicrafters TR-9 transceiver.  Does anyone have  any 
information on how they were used?  They look military and are in that  section 
of Chuck's book.  Any information would be helpful.
