[Hallicrafters] Need a 3-400 and chimney

Cal,
I also have an HT-45 Mark IIA but not a spare tube. But, I can advise you
that there is an Amperex tube that is a 3-400Z replacement that fits. I
cannot recall the number but perhaps some others can. I previously had an
original Radio Industries Loudenboomer version of this amplifier that had
that tube installed. It is somewhere between the 3-400Z and the 3-500Z in
height but fits nicely in the amplifier and inside the original chimney. I
do recall that I had to use a slightly different plate cap -- but that was
mostly because I did not feel comfortable with how close the original cap
came to the cabinet!!
