[Hallicrafters] SX-100 RF Alignment

Hi,
    I am aligning the RF section of a SX-100.  The manual states: "and 
BANDSPREAD fully counter-clockwise".
    My question is:  Does this mean for the BS knob to be fully C-W 
(capacitor plates NOT meshed) OR the BS dial to be fully C-W (capacitor 
places fully meshed)?
