Regarding the Console radio you saw...
 
In the 1930's the Silver-Marshall Company was having financial difficulties and the Hallicrafters Company took over the manufacturing of several old console radios.  Most of these model numbers start with an H, J, Z and a few start with K. These were marked (usually inside) as Hallicrafters.
 
They made one called the Z-13, that fits your description, except it has 13 tubes. The Z-10 model has only 7 tubes and also fits your description.  I realize these numbers are a bit of a strech from your model number.
 
Just thought I'd throw in my two cents worth.
