I think after I sent the email I realized they are probably called
piston
capacitors.  Anyway, you say once the solder is gone, I will find a 1/4"

nut.  I assume this is acting as a bearing for the shaft?  If so, how do
you turn the shaft?  By hand or some tool?

   If you can get the solder off the caps you will find it is a 1/4 inch
nut. 
I had problems with mine, but after I got rid of the solder it aligned 
normally.
