[Hallicrafters] SX-100 S-Meter

I have an S-meter that reads "all of nothing". It sits at about S-3 until I tune in ANY readible station and then is slams to 80 over S-9.  I've checked and changed all of the resistors and caps in the S-meter circuit and a couple of other things, including a new S-meter pot...but still have an ADHD S-Meter. Any ideas?
