[Hallicrafters] A 'possible' SX-101 spur problem?

Hi Y'all,
I have basically finished the work on my friends SX-101A receiver and he's
due to pick it up tomorrow. Yesterday I aligned and calibrated it. It was
off some, but not "terrible".
Yesterday evening I listened to some hams on 40M for awhile, then tried out
the 20 Meter band, though I fully expected the band to be "closed". On 20
Meters I was hearing a number of international broadcasters (frequencies
unknown) that I KNOW shouldn't be there. As the 20 Meter band was basically
"closed" these broadcasters HAD to have been on a lower band, like 25M
(11.5-12MC) or 31M (9.5-10MC). So, I thought that perhaps I had
"mis-aligned" the 20 Meter band (it was the one furthest off). So, this
morning I rechecked the alignment and it is GOOD, RF stages peaked properly
etc and I'm hearing quite a lot of 20 Meter ham activity "on frequency".
This one has me really puzzled as a calculation of the "Image frequencies
(+/- 3.3MC) for this receiver doesn't add up to ANY International BCB being
heard on 20M.
Thoughts, ideas?
