Hi Brian;
Have you checked to make certain both signals are not coming out of your
generator ? I have not run across this in aligning several hundred
receivers. The Image would be 910 kc away not 50 kc. Since you say two
signals are present on all bands, I would suspect the generator. Try it
on another radio.
Another thought is the BFO is on and way off frequency.
Another thought is one of the IF's is oscillating 50 kc away. Try tuning
the IF's with both signals present. If one or more adjustments pop and
whistle, the IF is oscillating. Good luck.
Now tell me why band 5 stops oscillating at the low end on the SX-42 I am
working on. The other 5 bands aligned good.
