[Hallicrafters] SR-400 and SR-400A Comparison

Jim,

Sorry not to have gotten back to you sooner. One other difference between
the SR-400 and SR-400A is an adjustable bias circuit for the final amplifier
tubes that removes the need to buy matched tubes. As time goes on, this can
become important. Otherwise, having used both models I have to agree that
the only other difference apparent is power output. I use my SR-400A
somewhat regularly and am constantly amazed at how well it performs on
today's bands.

Thanks to George and Ron for your input. It looks like the power output is
the main difference. Now as soon as I decide which piece of equipment to
sell in order to make some room and pay for the Cyclone, I'll post a "WTB"
message.

Jim

Very little difference between a 400 and 400A I believe maybe a couple
tubes are different. Both have all the same features.
