1. Check the BAMA site for a manual/schematic that you can download -
2. If you have not cleaned the controls, you did not say you had, you should do
so. Often times a problem can be caused by something as simple as a dirty or
corroded contact.
3. Have you checked for a signal at the speaker terminals?
4. I 'do not' know if the SX-42 is one of the receivers that require a jumper to
enable the speaker or not, some other models by Hallicrafters do. If so, I am
confident one of those wiser than I will so advise you.

I just received a SX-42 that doesn't have any audio output through
either of the speaker connections.the headphone jack seems to work fine
as does all the rest of the radio functions.I have checked all the tubes
(all check good) and most all of the other audio related circuit.All
looks good.Could this be a bad output transformer?I do not have the
specs for this and cannot check.I should also mention that a slight hiss
can be heard from the speaker, almost inaudible but there. Can any of
you very wise people point me in the correct direction?
