I agree about the SX-117. The conversion scheme is identical and the circuit
is practically the same as the SX-115. The SX-115 has an additional 2 tubes
which fulfill the role of the additional bells and whistles...  Putting the
two side-by-side on the workbench and doing sensitivity, rejection and
selectivity measurements, the SX-117 is equal in performance to the SX-115.

I love my SX-117 and it's one of the most underappreciated receivers in
boatanchorland...
The SX-117 and HT-44 transmitter make a heck of a good vintage CW/SSB
station!

Buy an SX-117
Best Halli bargain out there.
Convert to either 6DJ8 or 7360 first mixer and 7360 product detector.
Add an outboard peaking type Q multiplier or modify the built in notch
type to peak. Only necessary if you are a serious CW op.
You will have a great RX, better than Collins 75A4!
