[Hallicrafters] SX-111 Alignment Fine Points?

Good evening all,

A few alignment fine point questions. Its good but I think it could be better.
The manual says to maintain a 1/2W output across the 500ohm spkr terminals.
Not having a power meter to do it I was using 15vrms on a volt meter.

1) For the 1600, 1700 2nd converters, & 1650if, would reading the peaks
from the point B detector as well as the spkr have an advantage?

2) Same question for the rf sections.

3) When I peak the mixer trimmers at the high end of the low bands, per the
manual, it introduces a lot of noise (s9) at peak. Should they be adjusted
to the middle of the curve? That seems to get rid of the internal noise
without loosing all the sensitivity.

Thanks in advance, George KB2Z
