Falling  bit short of the SX-100 is the SX-96; it is almost as nice.  The SX-122 is sort of the last incarnation of the SX-100 line; also a great receiver.  Enjoy the SX-99, but expect a BIG step up when you fine one of the other radios.  By the way, any speaker that works on the SX-99 can be used on the SX-100, but not the other way if it is a 500 ohm speaker [without a simple modification].  73.

Thanks to all that have responded. I just wish I would have joined the
reflector earlier. Unfortunately, I have just purchased a SX-99 and R-46B
speaker for $150.00. So, once it arrives I will make sure that it is OK and
start to look for a SX-100. 

Is the R-46B the correct speaker for the SX-100?
