Hi Roy
It was me who asked the question.
Lots of advice and lots to think about.
I have checked the attenuator both opened and closed.
First indication of failure was a reading of 3 megs at pin 1 on v104, it
should be 550r.
Removal of the atten revealed an over heated r141(55r), measured about 3 megs.
According to the manual there should be .1volt output with the atten on x10k,
I measured
170 mv with my dmm or .17volt. Thats as far as I've gotten.
I was thinking of applying a variable dc voltage high enough for the dmm to
read the output
and then calculate the attenuation.
Does this sound reasonable or just wishful thinking.?
regards and best
