[Hallicrafters] SP-600 cabinet source

Realizing that the quest for an original SP-600 cabinet might extend beyond
my lifetime, I'm also looking into new manufacture units.

The Premier cabinet has been mentioned before, but I've also discovered
(after about a half dozen exhausting mouse clicks) that Hammond (y'know, the
transformer folks) also makes a table top cabinet that should accomodate the
SP-600 perfectly. It's their model number RCHS1901017BK1 (black textured
finish). Mouser can have one drop shipped to you for less than $198.00 -- a
savings over the Premier model. I mention Mouser specifically because
they're my favorite new component supplier and this is my email. Other fine
distributors like Newark can order the Hammond products, too.

This cabinet, like the Premier, has one drawback. It's not ventilated and
has no hinged lid (okay, two drawbacks). A shotgun could meet the
ventilation need, I suppose. One would wish to remove the receiver from the
cabinet before treatment, however, unless one is VERY frustrated with one's
SP-600.

I'm still looking for an original case, however.
