I use a 50-50 mix of ammonia and generic "Windex-like" glass cleaner to
remove accumulated bug goo from my truck front end and windshield. In
summertime, my 50 mile round-trip commute can accumulate a lot of crud,
especially if my drive home is around dusk. Works better and is less
expensive than some commercial bug-removal products.
I do try to wipe off excess as soon as possible from the clearcoated
painted surfaces. Clearcoat on a newer vehicle is certainly quite
durable, but radio panels and cabinets will definitely require some
testing. This mix is a very aggressive solvent.
