[Hallicrafters] Modified SX-100

Under restoration, my SX-100 has had V7 changed to a 6BA7. From preliminary tracing this tube is acting as a product detector and the ANL circuit has been taken over by diodes.  Is anyone familar with a mod or circuit using this circuit?  Someone came up with it somewhere!  Thanks, Joe k7mks
