  Am starting restoration on a SX-100 Mark I.  The set is very microphonic and no "one" tube seems to be the culprit.   Is this a characteristic of the -100?

    There are scratches around the top and sides of the front panel but the panel itself is fine.  Any suggestions, including paint brand/color, for redoing the top and edges 

   I plan to replace all paper caps except those black beauties associated with the Selectivity switching circuit.
