David I refinished my HT-32 and painted it myself. I used 120 grit sand
paper for the initial stripping. The gray type that is for metal and
refinishing use. Then I gradually worked my way up to 400 grit. I used a
gray metal primer made by Dupli-Color. The high build variety if you can
locate it. I put on 2 coats and then 400 grit to smooth it and then painted
it with Dupli-Color Suv and Van paint #T229W Silver (M). This color has
been recommended by several others on this list before. I think it matches
pretty close. You can find the paint at Walmart in the automotive section
or most auto parts handle this brand although it's higher priced there.
Good luck in your restoration....................Bob Raley kg5r
