Look for copies of "Basic Electricity" and "Basic Electronics" by Van
Valkenburgh, Nooger, and Neville. These books were originally prepared
for the U.S. Navy in the 1950's, and re-issued in civilian versions -
each in 5 separate volumes, or an "all-in-one" publication. They have a
unique style of illustration, and are the best books I have ever found
to explain basic Electrical and Electronic theory. Both are now out of
print, but can be found from used book dealers. Try a search at
"www.abebooks.com".
