What about the wafer switch issue? You do not want lubricant soaking into them,
reduces conductivity. 	
	
For those of you spraying around a receiver with a dial cord, do NOT get this
stuff on the string! Why? Because slippage is the result! Use a gauze pad with
some isopropyl alcohol and wipe down the string. Cleans it off.

I have used WD-40 for decades as a contact cleaner and
haven't had a single problem!  It definitely leaves
behind some lubricant.  This goes back to when I owned
the Motorola reconditioned equipment center for the
south-central U.S.  We used WD-40 exclusively.

Now, there are those who "swear by" WD-40 and those
who "swear at" WD-40.  I am among the former group!
