I just use the "cheap" primer that I get at WalMart
for less than $1 a can! Works as well as the much
more expensive types.
The acryllic that I use air dries without any
problems. What I usually paint is too large to go in
my wife's oven and I don't have a commercial paint
oven to dry things in.
Usually I use 2 coats of acryllic. In a few cases 1
covers but normally 2. Very seldom do I have to use
more coats.

I need to repaint an SX-71 cabinet and am interested
in your use of acrylic paint. Two questions
1) what do you use for primer?
2) how many coats of acrylic do you use?
3) do you bake it?
