This is my one and only contribution on the Black Beauties.
A 1953 Sprague advertisement shows a picture and this description.

"TELECAP - phenolic molded paper tubulars assure maximum dependability
under extreme heat, humidity, and shock.
These Black Beauties are oil-impregnated in ratings from 600 to 12,500
volts."

A 1964 Sprague ad shows a picture and this description.

"BLACK BEAUTY CAPACITORS
Dual dielectric (polyester film and paper) combines best features of both.
Solid impregnant, nothing to leak or drip. Molded case. Withstand high
temperatures, high humidity."

These are the Sprague Black Beauties.
