I am a little late in posting this, but here goes.  I would highly recommend that you find someone to replace your filter caps.  You could do some serious damage to yourself and your radio.  The discharged voltages from those electrolytics can literally fry you.  Check to see if there is a ham in your area that can do it for you.  Most of them would be very happy to lend a helping hand.
