[Hallicrafters] Another "great" LOSS --------

As a new ham in the 1960's, I started my career on 2 meter AM.
This required a shortwave receiver with VHF converter, and a 2
meter transmitter. The short wave receiver happened to be an SX-17.

Now to me, this huge boat anchor was a wonderful thing. It worked great
tuning VHF on the 7-11 mhz segment and worked lots of DX with that.
Then,
for some unknown reason, I decided the SX-17 had to go and I just tossed
it in the morning garbage. I guess I lost some interest in Hamming.
Regretted doing that most of my ham life until................

35 years later, I have a new? Pristine SX-17 to sooth that memory and
it, works fine also and I have actually used on HF to make contacts.
