That's why I mentioned it.... believe me you aren't the first to make that
mistake <grin>.

It's some VERY obscure and sort of rare WW2 vintage USN special connector...
similar to one type of General Radio style connector that is unavailable. I
had the military parts and connectors guru's at William Perry & Co. looking
for one for me for a year and they were not able to obtain one....
That said don't dispare.... you can make your own. Take a binding post
connector ( aka 5-way connector) apart. Remove the screw on front part of
the connector. Leave the rear insulator on and the nut. Solder an antenna
wire onto the solder stud at the rear. Now you an use the metal cup in the
front part of the connector and slip it over the RCA plug like center in
that antenna connector on the radio.
My explanation may not be too clear as it's easier to do then explain
<grin>. The 5-ways like I use can be hard to find.... if you need one I can
mail you one.
