Doug -

Tell us more about this can opener.  I have a Krups Open Master 404 that
works by unrolling the crimp between the side and top of the can, but it
leaves teeth marks in the can wall.  Is this the kind of machine you are
referring to - or is it something else?  

I've never seen a machine that actually cuts the sidewall of the can. 
Most can type capacitors have a rather large crimp at the bottom.  Does
it leave that part undamaged?  How do you reassemble the thing if you
have a piece of the can portion still in the bottom?

Inquiring minds want to know.
