[Hallicrafters] Radio Shack

I really don't think that "Radio Shack" is very discriptive of what the
store is anymore. I think that they should change the name to "Crappy
Battery Operated Toy Shack", or "Cell Phone Shack", or "Don't ever have any
of the parts you need Shack" , or my favorite, "WE Sold Out Ham Radio To Go
Into the Crappy Toy And Cell Phone Business Shack". The last time I went in
there was to get a simple PL-259 connector, and the pimply faced boy behind
the counter gave me the most vapid stare I've ever gotten from a counterman
in my life! He had absolutely no idea what I was talking about! I guess you
can tell that I'm not a big fan of what Radio Shack has become. I guess I'm
mad because there are absolutely no parts houses anywhere near me anymore.
If I buy something, it's off of the internet, and I really miss having a
place that I can pop into and get a few things without having to wait two
weeks for it to get here. I also miss the experienced countermen that Rado
Shack used to have. I remember the day when you could actually ask a
question and get an intelligent, reasoned answer! Oh well, time marches
on...........
