Radio Shack.Com had several retail stores including one in Atlanta. These
were closed two years ago. Looking at their web page they have really cut
down on the products offered. They do have a good price on Vectronics which
is another namr for MFJ.
I only wish they still had a radio shack.com order desk at the individual
stores. The stores are staffed by people who often don't know what they
have except by name and part number. One harried employee told me a
Christmas that they were goaled on sales of cell phones, PC's, and consumer
electronics. He said he did not have time to look and see if they had some
RG-8 coax in the back.
They have dropped 2 meter sales and are even phasing out sales of short wave
radios except for cheap models. They do have a parts caninet which contains
many of the parts we are looking for
including resistors, special hardware, and various transformers. I found
three 1000 PIV diodes for my Dentron amp power supply for $1.99 last Fall.
